WOW is a non-profit organization providing helpful information for the expatriate community over the internet. Our service is free of any membership fees or registration. Our goal is to enhance your experience abroad by making life in a new country and culture easier for you.

Any kind of move can be stressful, whether you’re moving to a new home, new city, or to the other side of the country, but nothing prepares you for the move abroad. We’ve set out to create a website where you will find information about life in Frankfurt.

We pride ourselves with the information we have made available- all first hand experiences of expatriates who've lived abroad. We all have our own individual tales about life as an expat; the unfriendly teller at the bank, the realestate agent who earned over four thousand marks for five minutes of work (I’m in the wrong career field!!), waiting lists for schools and kindergartens (“What do you mean she won’t get a place?! She’s been on the waiting list for seven years!”), and, of course, contact with your neighbors (“You are too loud upstairs. Your child walks like an elephant!”, “How can that be? She’s only six weeks old.”). It's stories like these that help prepare the new arrival for life in a foreign country.

The world is getting smaller and smaller, with families and individuals relocating all over the world from one day to the next. Of course, these transitions can be difficult, but can also enrich one’s life with priceless experiences living in a foreign land can bring.

From our experiences we know how important it is to bridge the gap between the expatriate and host communities. We feel the more information available the greater the understanding, and the more you'll enjoy your time abroad.
