Actress, Singer, Musician and Presenter - a Portrait

Tracey Grey was born in England in 1971 and from the earliest age showed an interest in music and performing. At the age of 8 she already knew she wanted to be a performer and the world of Musical Theatre was the biggest attraction. It was decided however that she should stay at school in order to complete her education and develop her musical skills as an accomplished pianist, violinist and singer. At 18 she applied to the accredited Drama schools in London, still with the desire to be on the stage. She was fortunate enough to be accepted into her first choice, the Guildford School of Acting, to do a Musical Theatre performance course.

In 1993 Tracey graduated after an intensive 3 years of dance, singing and acting training and found herself among the thousands of young starlets vying for a career in the West End, London. Competition was tough, however she found small footholds and within a year was playing the title role in a new Musical tour and was taken on by a theatrical agent. Over the next few years she regularly performed in both Musicals and comedies across England and in London, including performances at the Covent Garden Festival and the Phoenix Theatre, London. Early 1997 she became the front singer for a 12 piece swing band where she rediscovered her love for jazz. The bands program included mainly jazz, from Ella to Paddy Austin, the standards of Porter, Gershwin and many others, blues, pop and rock

1999 brought more change with a move to Frankfurt, Germany. A decision not to be regretted! In the couple of years she has been here she has grasped an excellent working knowledge of the language, has performed, and more recently, produced and directed her own productions. In 2001 she directed a production of "Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell" for FEST at the Internationales Theater, Frankfurt, and in March 2002 she put together and performed in a benefit performance of The Vagina Monologues for the World-Wide V-Day Campaign. Over €5000 was raised for womens charities in Frankfurt.
